Making Your House A Home

Keep a vase of fresh flowers on the kitchen table.
Open the curtains and let in the sunlight.
Smile.
Light a scented candle.
Display your favorite collections.
Turn off the TV and play an instrumental CD.
Throw away junk mail as soon as you receive it.
Pray for your family and your home.
Light a fire in the fireplace or wood stove. (or turn the gas logs on in our case)
Bake cookies.
Use pretty throw pillows on your bed and couch.
Hang a seasonal wreath on your front door.
Welcome your children’s friends to your house.
Set up a trampoline in the back yard.
Wash your windows to let in more natural light.
Keep potted geraniums on your front porch.
Give more hugs and kisses.
Read the Bible as a family.
Host a monthly game night and invite newcomers from your neighborhood or church.
Hang family portraits on the wall.
Limit computer and phone use.
Use pink light bulbs for softer light.
Display children’s drawings on your refrigerator.
Take care of pets and plants.
Say, “I love you.”
