Last night, my husband had a deacons meeting--so I knew it was going to be a late night for him (and me)! Normally, when I know he'll be out late, I put the girls to bed early so I can have what I call "Blessed Quietness". Well, my "Blessed Quietness" turned into "Annoying Quietness". I could hear NOTHING except an annoying, buzzing fly in my bedroom! The thing was going crazy flying everywhere. I got up, went and grabbed the flyswatter and you can probably guess what happened...the fly disappeared. Have you ever noticed how as soon as you get the flyswatter in your hand they are gone? Guess what happened next?
I was sitting in bed, TRYING to read my Bible, kill a fly, and keep from getting frustrated and what did I see......................THE CRAZY FLY ACTUALLY ON THE FLYSWATTER! I thought to myself, "Buddy, you've had it!" But how am I going to pull this one off---kill a fly that's already on the flyswatter. Well, I began to gently raise the flyswatter, turned it over (with the fly hanging upside down) and WHAMMMMMMMMMMMMM! on the table he went! He'd had his last buzz around my head.
Your probably thinking...this is a silly thing to spend time writing about BUT isn't it amazing the smallest little thing can be such a distraction and neusance to us?
Sometimes if I'm not careful, I'll let the smallest differences in someone to just annoy me. But I am sure if I asked around, I've got some small differences that annoy some folks as well.
So remember, don't sweat the small stuff--unless it's an annoying fly during "Blessed Quietness" time. Remember, we're all different and each uniquely designed by our Heavenly Father.
