Off Balance

Last Saturday night, we had to make an unexpected purchase. Our washer has been doing some very frustrating things for quiet some time. It has leaked twice…thank the Lord I was home and the girls caught on to the routine of running to the bathrooms to get all the towels to block the water from getting on our wood floor!! I would then have to get a pitcher and get the water out of the tub; throw it out the back door because the water just kept leaking out. (I hope none of the neighbors saw me J ) So anyways, my husband thought for sure he’d fixed the problem of the water leakage, but the other problem wasn’t fixed. When the washer would get on spin cycle, the thing would sound as if it was going to tear the house down. It was awful. So I would have to go open the lid; move the clothes around; adjust the tub; and if you got it JUST RIGHT it would work…which was seldom. Well, Saturday night was it…I had to run the washer 3 times on spin cycle to get a load of clothes done. (I was a bit frustrated on the inside but knew I didn’t want a large purchase right now so I tried assure my husband it would be okay). BUT…the washer started leaking AGAIN. Anyways, my husband is so sweet and just does what he can to make my life easier…praise the Lord…so he started pulling the washer out; unhooking everything; backed his truck up to the back patio; and out my washer went. As late as it was, he went and got me a brand new washer. This one is SO nice. It’s digital and knows how much water is needed…I don’t have to think about anything. And he promised me that this tub - which is stainless steel - will be a lot better than my other one! (It’s a lot quieter as well)

Just a little household ordeal, but what sort of problems would that pose if we applied that to our spiritual life…becoming just a little off balance? Maybe we become less faithful in our prayer life, our Bible reading, our witness, our attendance to God’s House, our testimony…just like those clothes that became off balanced and wouldn’t allow the washer to spin them properly…if we allow even the smallest detail of our spiritual life to become off balanced, it will affect our life! Let’s be sure and keep the right balance in our spiritual life!!!
