A Day For Daddy

Thursday night while my hubby was away at a meeting, the girls and I began to put together a little booklet of things they’d colored and such for their daddy on Father’s Day! We even prepared a few things to put in his lunch for work on Friday…a Certificate of Appreciation, a bookmark that had a big giraffe and a baby giraffe on it that said “Dad, I look up to you!“ They all signed a little thing I made on the computer that said, “To my daddy: I hugged this little card real tight and kissed it, daddy too! Then I packed it full of love and sent if off to YOU!“ (and then I threw a little something in there as well).

This has been a wonderful Father’s Day. I have so much to be thankful for. It seems every time you turn around, there’s another father walking out on his wife and children. How sad! How devasting! I am so thankful Christ came into to our home almost 10 years ago. Christ does make the difference in a home! And so does having a Christian daddy! And mommy too!

I am so thankful to have A CHRISTIAN DADDY for our children. What a heritage our girls will have with a daddy like theirs. He is SO very special. He is so real. He is geniune. HE'S THE BEST!

I am so thankful my wonderful husband desires to be in church, to be faithful, to be committed…come what may…HE IS FAITHFUL! What a testimony! On Sundays, it’s not a question from our girls whether we are going to church today or not…it’s just what we do.

My hubby is A GREAT PROVIDER! If our girls need something (I did say NEED…not their wants necessarily), no matter what the budget may be, he’ll tell me to just go ahead and get the ‘need’ for them.

My hubby is A GREAT LEADER! I can trust him with the finances. I use to do all the bills etc., but it just seemed like things weren’t getting paid so I turned it over to him. (So glad I did…one less headache of stretching a dollar) I can trust him with decisions. Just a couple months ago my husband quit his old job and got a new one. It was a BIG leap of faith and we definitely couldn’t see how we were going to make it making WAY LESS than what we were and we were barely making ends meet with his old job. There were times I must admit, I’d look and him and say, “Do you think we did the right thing?” and he’d assure me that we did. Now I know we did…he loves his job. He’s more relaxed when he comes home. He’s not as stressed. When he gets home from work (not that I expect him to do this) but he’ll come to the kitchen to help me with whatever to get the meal prepared. It’s wonderful!

My hubby is A GREAT COMFORTER! I am the ‘not so calm’ one in the family. My heart is always moving and I’ve got things to do. I don’t slow down. On the other hand, my hubby can sit down with one of the girls when they are restless and have them calm in no time.

My hubby is PROUD OF HIS FAMILY! The other day at Wal-mart while I was picking out some new glasses, this lady walked past who my husband is in training with at his new job. So he hollered for her and she came over. He introduced all of us and was just smiling from ear to ear (my husband smiles even when he’s a little upset). The next day at work, the lady told the class she had met us and Larry was so proud of his family. That made me feel so good.

My hubby is AN INVOLVED DADDY! While our oldest daughter was playing ball, he was into the game. He wanted her team to win! He was definitely encouraging her from the stands. One of their favorite things to do is go with daddy to the dump. As soon as they see him gathering the trash, they all want to go…even Shianne now. It gives me a few quiet moments as well which are always enjoyable and time alone with daddy for them!

He’s just an all around WONDERFUL, AWESOME, ONE-OF-A-KIND DADDY! He’s got to be the best and I am so thankful I married him to share my life with…forever and ever! Thank you, honey! HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!
