A Heart Committed To Prayer Part III Prayer Allows Us To Unload ALL Our Burdens

I Peter 5:7 says "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

What is one thing that just has you worried? one problem or issue you are facing right now? Have you given it to the Lord?

The other day while the girls and I were doing devotional time before school, I mentioned how we are to leave our burdens with the Lord. Trying to illustrate with something on their level, I mentioned the camel. The camel is used to carry heavy loads for it's master. What would happen if the camel refused to kneel (as camels are pretty tall) for his owner to remove the heavy load? Well, it would pretty much be impossible for the master to lift the load off the camel at it's great heighth.

The Lord cannot take our burden until we 'kneel' and allow HIM to take our burden. (I am not saying you have to be on bended knee in order for burdens to be lifted, but it's a condition of the heart of totally committing the burden(s) over to HIM completely)

Ladies, if you are like me at times--probably more times than I realize - I'll bring a burden to the Lord BUT keep it with me too. There's a little saying that says:

But this you must remember,
This one thing you must know...
I cannot take your burden
Until YOU let it go!

We must be willing to let our burdens go and give them completely over to the Lord.

Take your burden to the Lord. Allow the burden to be lifted and commit it completely to the Lord.

I like the analogy of the camel, and it's so true.
