The Gift Of A Godly Heritage

2 Timothy 1:5 "When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and they mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also."

Ps. 89:1 "I will sing of the mercies of the Lord, forever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations."

The other Sunday in our Sunday School class we had a young man give his testimony. He was raised Catholic and so he explained different rituals they'd go through. As I sat there, I became so burdened for those that follow this religion (and other religions out there) where they do and do, and go through all the classes and daily/weekly rituals and yet they are dying and spending eternity in hell. All they did and followed and recited was all in vain.

Praise the Lord, he and his wife found an independent, baptist church, heard the truth and got saved. He is now the pastor of a church up in the area where he was raised. I believe they will be able to have a huge impact on those that are following the catholic religion--as they've been there themselves.

If we had the privilege to be raised up with a Godly heritage we have a special gift--not shared by everyone. We also have a big responsibility to pass that gift on to the next generations. The verse says "...with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations." We need to make known God's faithfulness to our children, our grandchildren and others as well.

One of the gifts our 3 oldest girls asked for this Christmas was a new KJV Study Bible. That may seeem so small or insignificant to some but it reassured me we must be doing something right as parents. I pray that their desire for God's Word and doing His Will will not change once they reach teenage years and then get out on their own. I am so thankful they desire to want a new Bible---their Bibles are pretty used looking by now.

We need to regularly remind them of God's faithfulness. Oh, we may think to ourselves He's let us down but God NEVER fails and His ways ARE perfect.

Ps. 31:1a "In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed:"

I desire to make sure our daughters have a Godly heritage. You may be a lady who doesn't have the gift of a Godly heritage. Maybe you come from a home where Christ was never spoken of, but spoken only to use His precious name in vain. BUT YOU can begin a Godly heritage by the life you live for the Lord today. YOU be the one who begins this generation to make known God's faithfulness and God will over and abundantly bless you for it.

Lamentations 3:23 says "They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
