The Gift Of Friends

Prov. 17:17a "A friend loveth at all times..."

PRov. 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

Many of us have several acquintances -- but how many TRUE FRIENDS do we have?

An acquintance is a person whom one knows only slightly.

A friend though is a person whom one knows well and is fond of; a supporter or symphathizer!

If you want to be a true friend and not just be an acquaintance - you MUST take a genuine interest in someone. You MUST be there during the high and low moments of their life.

Of course, I believe there is no better place to make friends than at church. I believe attending Sunday School is vitally important. You stand a better chance of getting to know one another one on one and building a bond. Especially if your church is large. Our church runs from 800+, so I find it so beneficial to be in Sunday School, attend Ladies prayer groups, Ladies Fellowship, Ladies Retreats and other 'small groups' to get to know other ladies and build a friendship other than just acquintances.

Share the gift of friendship this Christmas. Get out of your 'circle' of friends and make some new friends. There are ladies everywhere just longing for someone to take an interest in them.
