The Gift Of Family

I am so thankful for my family--immediate and extended! They are a precious gift from God.

My husband is a precious gift to me. We have been married for 14 1/2 years. I appreciate all he does for our family - having a Godly example for our girls, his faithfulness to God and our family, his working hard to meet our needs...He's a very special gift I'll always treasure.

Our 4 precious girls God has blessed us with. Ps. 127:3 says, "Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Children are a gift, so appreciate them and guard them. They are like fruit, so lovingly cultivate them. They can be arrows for fighting the Lord's battles, so keep them polished and sharp and aimed in the right direction.

My parents are a precious gift to me. Of course growing up I thought -- like probably most of us -- their ways are too 'old fashion' but NOW I sure wish they'd had a few more 'old fashion' ways. I'm sure I'd have had a lot less heartaches. My parents have always been there for me and our family. I love and appreciate them so very much. I pray often God will give them many, many more healthy years of life!

My brother is a precious gift to me. He's the only sibling I have. I believe as we get older, we become closer and share a very special bond.

Ladies, if we aren't careful, the ones who are the closest to us--our family--we'll take for granite. Let them know this Christmas they are a special gift to you. The other day someone mentioned how each Christmas brings change to a family...someone has passed away since last Christmas, little ones have been born into the family since the previous Christmas, maybe some have moved away and are unable to get 'home' for Christmas---treasure the moments you have because we only have but moments with each other!
