A Praise To Share
If you read my blog yesterday, I was DREADING jury duty today. I arrived a little before 9 a.m. to the courtroom waiting area where probably 50-60 people were waiting--not many smiles AT ALL though! Oh, it was quiet scary to say the least. Then upon being all called into the courtroom and given STERN instructions (I literally felt like a whipped puppy - they certainly have 100% government attitude in them -- my hubby works for the federal government so I remind him to be nice and don't have that 'attitude' they all seem to carry so well). Each persons name is called out and you say "Present". Then you go to the front where the deputy is and get a card and pencil and have a seat in another area. So my name was called (and my heart beating so FAST), I went up but the deputy didn't have a card with my name on it. He said "Maybe you don't exist". I tried to break the unbreakable ice and said "That would be good"! The clerk spoke up and said "You have been deferred til next June" - I had wrote a letter trying to get out of jury duty a third time in less than a year and KNEW it wouldn't work but tried since I homeschool. She said you may stay since you are here or wait til next June to serve. I gladly said, "Well, I homeschool so June would work out better." (HOPING my name will get lost between now and then but I don't think so---they are after me for some reason) GOD IS SO GOOD! My hubby now gets to go to work--his last day in job training after 6 months--and have a luncheon and move to his new office area. I knew he was excited and wanted to be there so I BELIEVE GOD intervened and KNEW the desires of our hearts! WHAT A RELIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and what an awesome God we serve! If I do have to go next June, atleast I know what I'll be treated like and it won't be so scary -- it probably will be though :-)
