God Tops Our Life With Peace!

Continuation of Series: God Tops Our Life With So Many Goodies!

I will NEVER forget the day I got saved. My husband was stationed in Germany with the military and we attended this Independent Baptist Church for the very first time. After the service, the visiting missionaries wife took me to the church nursery and showed me how to be saved. Even though I'd been raised in churches my whole life, this was the very first time someone took the BIBLE and showed me how to be saved. I remember leaving that day with a peace I'd never had before...such a wonderful peace. Philippians 4:7 says "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." People of this world cannot understand it at all, and sometimes even as a Christian I am just in awe of the peace God gives us.

Stayed upon Jehovah,
Hearts are fully blessed;
Finding, as He promised,
Perfect peace and rest.

While I was home a few weeks ago, I was able to go visit my grandpa--the only grandparent I have remaining. Oh, he looked so terrible and has really went down since Christmas. In fact at Christmas he told me, "I won't be here next Christmas." and it just broke my heart. When we got ready to leave this last time, I was trying to encourage him and tell him how well he was doing and for him to be thankful he could still get out, live on his own...and he just broke down--I am sure knowing he's going down health wise--and he said he didn't know how much longer he would be able to live on his own without help or having to have assistance. I went over and rubbed his shoulder and arm and assured him it would be okay. He soon got himself together and was able to talk to us as we left. Yet, I know he has peace in knowing where he is going...what wonderful peace. Do you have that peace? Peace the Lord can only give? If not, I trust you'll seek someone out who does know that peace, and ask them to share with you how to come to know Christ. It's so simple. Just believe that Christ died, was buried, and rose again on the 3rd day and HE IS coming again...ask HIM to forgive YOUR sins and come into YOUR heart and be YOUR personal Lord and Saviour. Christ has already paid the penalty for our sins.

It makes me think of another song of what you'll experience upon receiving Christ:

Ah! Soul, are you here without comfort or rest,
Marching down the rough pathway of time?
Make Jesus your Friend ere the shadows grow dark,
Oh, accept this sweet peace so sublime!

Peace, Peace, wonderful peace
Coming down from the Father above.
Sweep over my spirit forever I pray
In fathomless billows of love.
