TGIF - Today God Is First

TGIF - Today God Is First (and EVERYDAY God should be FIRST)

This week has been an unusual week. I've been getting up around 6 a.m. to get the girls up to run to our Christian School for them to take the SAT test! To say the least, I am ready to sleep in and it reminds me of all the POSITIVE things about homeschooling! (a great reminder always helps when you are this close to getting done and feel like you can't do another week of school)

Despite our unusual routine this week, I decided that before they went out that door we were going to sing an uplifting song unto the Lord, read a portion of Psalms and pray. Our week has went so much better. I found this little thing - TGIF Today God Is First and I thought what a great reminder. God should be FIRST every day. Sometimes I fail to practice that...well, let me just get REAL honest...the majority of the time I fail to practice that. I get up when the girls get up and from then on the ball rolls so fast I can hardly catch my breath.

I had this thought today when thinking about this TGIF...would any of us even dare get up in the morning and wait til the afternoon or night before we go to bed before we speak with our children or our husband? NO...and yet I'm afraid my Heavenly Father waits all day to hear from me at times until it's bed time and then I am too exhausted to spend quality time with HIM!

This week after putting this TGIF into practice, once again reminds me that even if it's 5 minutes spent with the Lord before the day begins...it's FAR worth it! I pray each of us will begin to practice TGIF EVERY DAY!
