Have You Considered Your Gift For HIM This Christmas Season?

How many of you have already accomplished all your Christmas shopping? Well, I am pretty much done. Just need to pick up a few more small things and the gift purchasing rush will be over for me...except paying for it :-) Each year, if you are like me, I am sure you sit down and try to make sure you write each persons name down for which you intend to buy gifts for - mom, dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, children...and on the list goes - BUT you know most of the time we don't even consider what our gift will be to HIM -- the one for whom we celebrate Christmas -- Jesus Christ! Have you considered YOUR gift for HIM this Christmas Season?

I want us to quickly look at some 'gifts' we can give our precious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

1. Your Heart

Ladies, this is the most important 'gift' you can give Christ. If you've never accepted Christ as your Saviour, and given HIM your heart then that's the FIRST 'gift' you need to give Him. All other 'gifts' will be void and vain without HIM first being in YOUR HEART! We pass out tracts especially designed for the Christmas Season. On the front it says "The Perfect Gift For Christmas"! The "Perfect Gift" isn't found in malls, dept. stores, or found nearly wrapped and carefully placed under the Christmas tree. The "Perfect Gift" is God's gift of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a gift you can't do without and one that means so much to all who will accept God's "Perfect Gift". What will it mean to you?

It's a Gift Of Love
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

It's a Gift Of Forgiveness
Acts 13:38,39 "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins; And by him that believe are justified from all things..."

It's a Gift Of Life
John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

It's a Gift of Joy
Ps. 16:11 "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

It's a Gift Of Heaven
John 14:2,3 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there ye may be also."

Make this Christmas special by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ, God's "Perfect Gift", as your Saviour. God's "Perfect Gift" will bring love, forgiveness, eternal life, joy and heaven into your life! Right NOW, ask Jesus Christ to be your Saviour and call upon HIM!

Make sure you've given HIM YOUR HEART this Christmas, if you haven't, there is no better time than now to do so. We aren't promised tomorrow!

2. Your Time

The other day I mentioned to my husband, "If I only had two more hours in a day, I think I'd accomplish what needs to be accomplished." Of course, he didn't support that idea and after thinking about what I said, that was a crazy thought! I wouldn't get more accomplished, I'd just commit myself to more and still not get everything done! Ladies, we need to be sure and give Christ our time through prayer time and through our personal devotions in God's Word. I don't believe we should stop there either...what about TIME in witnessing and passing out tracts? Our 3rd daughter LOVES to pass out tracts and most people will not turn from a child trying to give them anything. The other night at church, she said "Mommy, I need to get some more of those Christmas tracts to pass out when we go to Wal-mart"! So she LOADED up on them and I am sure she'll get them all passed out. What are you doing with your time? Are you spending it on self--reading novels, watching TV, spending hours on the phone catching up on all the church gossip...or are you giving Christ the gift of your time by spending time with HIM? I am sure each of us could spend just a little more time in prayer, in personal devotion time and in witnessing!

3. Your Service

If someone were to ask you, "What ministry are you involved in and serving the Lord?" What would you say? I wholeheartedly believe that if you are a wife/mother, your FIRST ministry is to your home. I've played the role of doing 'everything' - well, not everything - but WAY MORE than I should've been doing...jail ministry, Monday night visitation, Sunday School teacher, Ladies Fellowship President, playing the piano for church groups, playing piano for children's choir, going to the nursing home to play the piano...but in doing all of that at the same time, I found myself exhausted, and certainly not having the time I should've had to spend on my family and home. One of the hardest things for me to learn was to say "NO"! Right now, of course I am still a stay at home wife/mom and I help my husband with our churches Young at Heart ministry...a minitry we can do as a family and we enjoy serving Christ together. That are my two main ministries...my home and one ministry outside my home! So where are you serving? Get involved! Stay involved! There's much work to do for the Lord and if we each do our part, we will accomplish the work the Lord desires us to accomplish for HIM!

So this Christmas, while we are considering what we'll give one another...let's not forget to considered our gift for HIM this Christmas Season---for HE is the REASON for the Season!
