A Contentious Woman

This is the 2nd part in our series "What Kind Of Lady Are We?" The first part dealt with The Beautiful Woman Without Discretion...now we are onto A Contentious Woman.

Proverbs 19:13 "A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping."

Proverbs 27:15 "A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike"

How many of you have a faucet that drips, drips, drips...? My kitchen faucet use to drip, drip, drip--all day long!!! (until my wonderful hubby fixed it for me) That drippy faucet annoyed me, or as some of us may say, "Drove me up the wall."

I can't stand to hear a repeated, annoying sound. Right now I am dealing with a ceiling fan that makes a 'rubbing' noise, for which my hubby has tried to fix so I must keep quiet :-) I will just have to learn to live with it--or turn it off, as I do at times.

Sometimes we are like that faucet that drips, drips, drips...except we nag, nag, nag. If we find ourselves nagging--we are a contentious woman.

What does contentious mean?

Contentious means:

quarrelsome
of or characterized by contention

Contention is:

verbal strife
argument
controversy
dispute
strife struggle

Oh, shamefully I must admit I've been like that faucet that annoys me, but I've annoyed others by my continuous nagging, nagging, and more nagging!

Ask yourself this question, "Would your husband be better of in the wilderness or in a corner of a housetop?" Well, sometimes he just might be...wait till I tell my hubby he'd be better off in the wilderness or the corner of the housetop sometimes. I am sure he'll think I've totally lost it...until I bring the Bible into the scene :-)

Proverbs 21:9 "It is better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house."

21:19 "It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman"

25:24 "It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house."

Let's strive to keep our husbands out of the 'wilderness' and the 'corner of the housetop', ladies!

Next we'll look at being A GOOD WIFE!!!!
